Supply Chain Operations Manager

Based at our state-of-the-art facility in Kempston.

Are you a Supply Chain Manager looking to lead supply chain and warehouse operations for a technology manufacturer?

Are you a problem solver with great knowledge of ERP systems?

Here at Leidos, we design and manufacture security and detection automation found in airports across the world – you’ll have likely been through one of our systems if you have been on holiday recently.

At our site in Kempston, we build and test this equipment before it is shipped off to its final destination. Our Supply Chain and Warehouse Operations play a vital role in supporting production processes and ensuring domestic and international shipments meet our customers’ expectations.

What is great about this role?

Autonomy – you will not be micro-managed (your manager will be in the US) and you are empowered to make decisions.

We have one product line – this makes means you can focus on perfecting one process.

Development – both for yourself and the team. We are keen to develop the skills within each team from self-led learning via our online learning portal and peer-led through knowledge sharing and peer-to-peer training.

The role

You’re a problem solver, able to identify potential issues which might affect the delivery of a project. You’re proficient in learning and using ERP systems (we use Costpoint), able to interpret and use transactional data and reports, looking out for any potential issues which could affect our ability to deliver on projects.

You ideally have a background in manufacturing but we are open to applications from industry backgrounds such as retail or logistics.

• Oversee the proper execution and improvement of Supply Chain Operations in support of Production processes

• Manage the team responsible for domestic and international shipments

• Manage the Warehouse team responsible for supporting the Bedford site, to include inbound materials, kitting/staging, outbound materials movement and activities in the Bedford stores

• Manage third-party warehouse relationships, review performance and cost

• Process all transactions through the Costpoint ERP system in accordance with company policy

• Manage inventory levels and stock rotation, ensure disposition instructions are promptly carried out

• Maintain Cycle Count program

• Lead and develop direct reports as required

About You

Significant experience managing a stores/warehouse operation, ideally in support of manufacturing.

Strong working knowledge of ERP systems.

Experience in inventory management and cycle counting.

Ideally (but not essentially) some experience of hazardous material shipping

Confident communicating with all levels within a business and with external stakeholders.

Due to the nature of our business, you must be able to obtain and maintain BPSS security clearance
