The OpportunityWe’re seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our growing team in Paisley. This role is ideal for a well-rounded professional who is confident working across different structural materials and project types. You'll play a key role in relieving workload from senior staff, taking ownership of projects, and contributing to high-quality design delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver structural designs for timber, steel, and concrete structures

  • Work across both residential and commercial/industrial projects

  • Liaise directly with CAD technicians, clients, and contractors

  • Prepare structural condition reports (where competent)

  • Contribute to the design of total frame solutions (steel)

  • Support fit-out and refurbishment projects for national retail clients

  • Collaborate with internal teams to meet deadlines and quality expectations

  • Operate within industry-standard software (e.g., CAD, TEDDS, etc.)

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in structural engineering

  • Proficient in timber, steel, and concrete structural design

  • Comfortable working independently with background support when needed

  • Strong communication and client liaison skills

  • Not required to be a certifier but open to those aspiring to be one

  • Ideally familiar with industry tools and able to contribute to CAD processes

  • Comfortable working on 1–2 projects at a time from concept to delivery

  • Chartered or working towards chartership as a minimum
