Job title: Strategic Sourcing Manager

Location: Hybrid - Office 1 day per week (Slough or Paddington)

Contract length: 12 Month Contract (May be extended)

Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday 09.00am - 17.00pm

(Please note this role requires some element of Travel around Europe)

Rate: £370 Day Rate (Inside IR35)

Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services are currently recruiting for a Strategic Sourcing Manager on behalf of a global Manufacturing Company. This role is initially a 12 Month Contract which may be extended. This is a Hybrid position which requires 1 day per week in either the office in Slough or Paddington depending on needs of the business. There will be some European travel involved also, which can sometimes come with little notice. Expenses for travel will be paid for all travel outside of commuting to the office.

The successful Strategic Sourcing Manager will join the Commercial Sourcing Team. The Strategic Sourcing Manager will have a strong Analytical way of working, vast knowledge of streamlining costs and building clean ways of working and building relationships cross functionally. The ideal candidate will have solid Project experience, and be able to adapt quickly in a new and fast paced environment. My client is open to the field in which you specialise in, however, Pet care/ Pet Nutrition would be desirable.

Responsibilities of the Strategic Sourcing Manager:

• Accountable & Responsible for the performance and results of the category in charge: execution of project strategy, procurement, supplier and stakeholder relationship management to ensure: Ensure volume availability according to the program requirement.

• Deliver a competitive advantage and continuous operational improvement for Mars in terms of Cost, Quality, Cash and Service

• Drive Transformation, Innovation & Sustainability through efficient supplier and internal stakeholder relationships.

• Feed into WAP Strategic Sourcing Manager any impacts to competitive pricing and effective price risk management.

• Support WAP Strategic Sourcing Manager in price forecasting linked to the program in a complex and volatile commodity environment, providing the business with timely intelligence on pricing and availability risks as well as spotting new opportunities early.

• Responsible for delivery of the program creating sufficient pipeline and ensuring project implementation.

• Responsible for Sustainability implementation program to ensure company commitments/compliance and future sourcing for the incumbent category.

• Responsible for supporting the WAP Strategic Sourcing Manager in Supplier Relationship for the program.

• Stakeholder management to ensure strategy implementation - especially R&D Managers, Q&FS Managers, EPM, IE, S&F co-pilot

• Engage the collaboration of the Commercial Operations Team and SQA team for program implementation and compliance.

• Support WAP Strategic Sourcing Manager in Program ATG/Steerco updates with project team including R&D, SQA, COP, IE…

• Responsible of applying COM policies and procedures in the implementation of the program (as per Commercial Guideline)

Key Skills / Experience Required for the Strategic Sourcing Manager:

• Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for the Commercial performance within the program/project including Service, Quality, Cost, Innovation, Sustainability and Compliance.

• Quality and availability of materials. This includes tender negotiations and legal contract negotiations.

• Cost: Ensure Cost saving programs in incumbent category and specifically transformational projects like F2F implementation, Supplier Relationship Management…

• Supporting WAP Strategic Sourcing Manager in Price forecasting linked to the F2F program is also part of the responsibility as part of the annual budgeting cycle and periodic financial cycle to ensure proper budget process. Also included price risk management development as relevant to the F2F program for incumbent category

• Sustainability: From basic compliance programs (NSG, MGIS) to the more advanced programs to ensure step change on sustainable sourcing and fulfill company commitments for the program.

• Innovation: Support implementation of Inno/transformation/reno projects

• To do this successfully, Strategic Sourcing Manager PPE is expected to develop close linkage and remain connected with key business partners such as R&D, Marketing, Strategic Deployment, IE in order to understand the exact business strategy and material needs and internally in Commercial with SQA and COM Operations to ensure execution in the best possible way.

About You….

• Education & Professional Qualification: BSc/MSc in business or technical field

• Knowledge/Experience: >3 years on Commercial

• Leadership Capabilities: Communication, stakeholder management, people management.

• Knowledge/Experience: Procurement expertise

• Strong procurement capabilities: Category Strategy implementation, Sourcing, negotiation, Supplier management, Stakeholder management, project execution
