Job Title: Stores OperativeLocation: Burton Hours: Monday to Thursday, 08:00 - 16:30; Friday, 08:00 - 13:00Contract: Ongoing Contract (with potential for long-term work)Pay Rate: Competitive, based on experienceThe OpportunityAn established engineering business is seeking a proactive and detail-focused Stores Operative to join their warehouse team in Barton Under Needwood. This role plays a key part in the smooth running of their logistics and stores operation, ensuring accurate inventory, efficient goods in/out processes, and high standards of housekeeping.Key Responsibilities* Receive, inspect, and accurately locate products into stock* Conduct visual checks and counts to verify documentation* Pick, kit, and prepare orders for despatch* Use forklifts (Reach and Counterbalance) to safely move stock* Maintain stock records using Oracle ERP system* Ensure goods are shipped accurately and on time* Participate in stock audits and monitor inventory discrepancies* Manage incoming and outgoing customer assets* Liaise with suppliers as needed for documentation clarificationPerson SpecificationEssential:* Proven experience working in a warehouse or stores environment* Experience conducting physical inventory checks* Current and valid MHE licences for both Reach Truck and Counterbalance Forklift* Good computer literacy, ideally with experience using Oracle or similar systems* Strong attention to detail and accuracy* Ability to work independently as well as part of a small team* Good communication and problem-solving skills* Reliable, motivated, and well-organisedWhat's on Offer* Stable working hours and early Friday finishes* Ongoing contract with potential for long-term work* Friendly and supportive team environment* On-site parkingIf you're an experienced Stores Operative with the right skills and licences, we'd love to hear from you.
