The Role
As a Stores Assistant - Seasonal, you will verify orders, load and unload vehicles, ensure the protection of furniture during transit, and maintain inventory records. You will also assist with furniture assembly and provide support during seasonal shifts and on-call rotations.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify and sign for orders, checking against delivery dispatch notes.
- Load and unload vehicles with furniture, building materials, and other items.
- Protect furniture during transit and storage to prevent damage.
- Build and dismantle furniture as needed.
- Maintain inventory and keep stock lists up to date.
- Deliver materials to various properties efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the van and vehicle checks.
- Submit completed forms to the office daily.
- Provide cover for colleagues during absences.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations.
- Participate in seasonal shifts and on-call rotations.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience in a similar role, particularly in building and dismantling items.
- Holds a Health and Safety manual handling certification.
- Is proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
- Has a full, clean UK driving license.
- Has knowledge of driving routes in Surrey, London, and Suffolk (desirable).
