MTrec’s New Opportunity;

MTrec’s prestigious manufacturing and engineering client, based near Hexham, are looking to recruit a Stores Assistant to their expanding organisation. The successful candidate will be guaranteed at least 3-months of work, with a strong chance of permanency if they are to excel in the position. They will work as part of the Stores Department team to ensure the efficient administration of the Stores Department and support the Assistant Stores Controller in the Stores activities. Experience in a similar or stores-related role comes at an advantage, though candidates from a range of backgrounds may be considered if they display the right attitude. The Job You’ll Do;

• To advise the Assistant Stores Controller/Stores Controller of stock discrepancies and shortages, maintain stock at agreed levels.

• To verify, update, and reconcile inventory information using a computerised records system. To produce physical inventory data for perpetual inventory count accurately and within the specified time limit.

• To maintain inventory records of all goods issued and receipts by adding or deleting items as they are issued or received.

• To control and issue inventory, process and maintain inventory records; perform related work, while ensuring the security of the stores stock and equipment.

• To maintain a professional, polite and courteous manner whilst dealing with internal and external customers.

• To promote a high level of quality and safety within the department.

• To determine proper floor and shelf locations for supplies. To verify quantity and quality of orders as received.

• To deal with general and specific queries and projects from all internal customers.

• To ensure safe working practices are adhered to and good housekeeping procedures are maintained.

• To ensure security of stock and control entry to the engineering stores department.

• To ensure continuity of service for spares and receipt.

• To attend training courses and meetings as necessary. To demonstrate professional competence and development by keeping skills up to date and in providing evidence of continuing professional and technical development.

• To follow all Company Safety Systems as detailed in Health and Safety Manual and assessments.

About You;

• Essential - conscientious attitude and reliable character.

• Desirable - forklift truck licenses come at an advantage.

• Reasonable standard of secondary education.

• Basic standard of IT skills and competent use of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel and Outlook).

• Experience in an engineering stores related role

• One day Health & Safety course.

• Must be well organised, efficient, personable and have a good, confident telephone manner.
