We are holding a Recruitment Day on 9th June 2024 between 12pm and 4pm at the Lidl store in Maryport (Curzon Street, Maryport, CA15 6DA).

We’re hiring now for the following positions:

  • Customer Assistants (£12.00 up to £13.00 per hour)
  • Shift Managers (£14.00 up to £14.50 per hour)

We have vacancies in the Wigton, Maryport and Cockermouth stores. 

Our recruitment day takes place between 12pm and 4pm and will include a welcome introduction to Lidl from various colleagues including, Store Managers and Area Managers, as well as a face-to-face interview. 

CUSTOMER ASSISTANT - As a Lidl Customer Assistant, no two shifts are the same. From restocking shelves to jumping on tills, you’ll keep moving, keep business booming and never be bored. You’ll take pride in going the extra mile to keep the store clean, tidy and organised, working closely with your colleagues and making sure that every customer receives the service they deserve. You could even become a Freshness, Non-Food or Bakery Specialist.

SHIFT MANAGER - As a Retail Shift Manager at Lidl, you’ll help us maintain our high standards day after day. From motivating your team to taking responsibility for the shop floor, you’ll keep our store running like clockwork, thriving in a fast-paced and challenging environment. You’ll also reap the rewards of your hard work, enjoying the responsibility to prove yourself as a leader and find your footing for future success.

Our store recruitment open days take approximately 1 hour to complete and will include a tour of the store and an interview. You will need to bring your right to work documentation with you, i.e. Passport, Share code etc. 

What you'll do

Customer Assistant:

  • Help our customers with their questions, queries and requests
  • Efficiently work deliveries as they arrive in store
  • Passionately provide excellent customer service
  • Proactively keep the bakery topped up by baking fresh goods
  • Expertly merchandise and maintain our middle aisles of Non-Food products

 Shift Manager:

  • Motivate and support your team, learning from our Leadership and Company Principles
  • Swiftly solve problems and delegating tasks 
  • Create an environment where your colleagues can succeed alongside you
  • Manage operations within your Store and colleagues in the absence of the Store Manager and Deputy Store Manager
  • Handle freshness, cash processes, inventory and stock management to make sure shifts run smoothly
  • Give our customers the very best experience every time they visit your store

What you'll need

Customer Assistant:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment

Shift Manager:

  • A proactive and encouraging approach to help your colleagues develop themselves and store operations
