Job Title: Stock Holding Coordinator, Buying

Reporting To: Commercial Lead

Location: Basingstoke or London, hybrid working of 3/2 in place

The job in a nutshell

In this role, you’ll work with all relevant departments to ensure that BB&R stock in visible and maintained appropriately. You’ll be highly analytical with great attention to detail and passion for problem solving.

Who you will work with

Internal: Fine Wine Buying Team, Logistics & Supply Chain team, Shop teams (Basingstoke & London), Finance team

External: Accessories

What you will do

  • Liaising with Buyers to ensure all stock is priced, if not priced, it is set aside for later use with a date and reason
  • Frequently meet with all Buyers to review their portfolio and highlight any anomalies, such as wines held, stuck in FMV, not on website or blocked by Warehouse,
  • Liaise with warehouse stock control team to ensure that relevant stock is released and available for sale,
  • Work with the rest of the Commercial Team to build a new and improved stock reporting tool to help manage the retail range.
  • Take ownership for the reporting and ordering that will keep over 90% of our core retail lines (excl BOS) in stock at all times.
  • Report and manage missing tasting notes to make sure the buyers provide the information in the timely manner,
  • Producer reporting: extract data from the system and prepare elements required by the buyer in line with “producer report” request form,
  • Maintain spreadsheet(s) of wines that are:to be delisted - work closely with appropriate departments to sell this stock
  • To be destructed – liaise with Warehouse and finance for out of condition wines,
  • Maintain and manage the stock provision with the financial team and the buyers to make sure provision are applied when necessary and stock is promoted accordingly,
  • Ready for season sale events
  • Work closely with Online/Digital team to ensure all wines are visible on our website at all times,
  • Accessories buyer
  • Ensure that all working practices comply with Health and Safety legislation.

What you will bring to the role

Experience / Achievements

  • Demonstrable experience in using all BB&R systems - PowerBI, SAP and Excel
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills are essential
  • An understanding of Wine purchasing processes together with some product knowledge

  • The ability to be flexible, decisive and quick-thinking
  • The ability to manage own workload, prioritise and meet deadlines

Qualifications

  • WSET Level 3 preferred, but not essential
