JC109 – Stock BuyerLocation – MaidstoneSalary – £Competitive Overview:First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our client to recruit a Stock Buyer to join their team in Maidstone.As a Stock Buyer, you will be responsible for the procurement of all parts, material, and commodities at the EFW facility in Allington, Kent in adherence with procurement procedures. ensuring the health and safety of staff, approved suppliers/contractors, the minimisation of impact to the environment and achieving expectations in terms of service and quality.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure group procurement strategies and policies are implemented on site.
  • Create and implement local KPI’s to track purchasing needs and deliver increased value.
  • Manage relationships with all suppliers to achieve greater efficiencies and cost savings.
  • Work with on site stakeholders to define scope of services and specifications for goods and services and identify suitable suppliers.
  • Ensure all hire plant and equipment adheres to group policy.
  • Order materials and services as per Group IMS procedures, seeking approval as necessary.
  • Management of the stock ensuring parts are ordered in line with requirements.
  • Management of data for parts in MRP stock system and providing stock reports.
  • Review quotations, make recommendations and negotiate terms and conditions with key suppliers.
  • Manage the preparation, approval and issue purchase orders in accordance with Group company policy and negotiated terms and conditions.
  • Receipting of purchase orders and resolving any invoice queries.
  • Discuss defective or unacceptable new goods or services with users, vendors and others to determine cause of problem and take corrective and preventative action.
  • Participate in Group wide Procurement activities and liaise with Group team as required.
  • Manage the stock of critical spares.
  • Negotiate and implement annual pricing agreements for frequently purchased stock items.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in a previous role is desirable.
