Stock Accountant - Venture Recruitment Partners : Job Details

The Role:

Venture Recruitment Partners are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Stock Controller to join our clients finance team on a temporary basis. This role is ideal for someone who excels in data reconciliation, thrives in Excel (especially VLOOKUPs), and enjoys bringing structure to complex inventory challenges.

The successful candidate must also be willing to travel to other UK and European locations for short periods (up to 5 consecutive days), supporting stock audits, reconciliations, and operational reviews across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date stock records across systems and locations

• Conduct regular stock reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies

• Utilize advanced Excel functions (VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, pivot tables) to manage and analyse inventory data

• Collaborate with warehouse, procurement, and finance teams to ensure stock integrity

• Develop and refine stock control procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency

• Monitor stock levels and produce reports to support purchasing and operational decisions

Experience and Qualifications:

• Previous experience in stock control, inventory management, or a similar role

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, particularly VLOOKUP and reconciliation techniques

• Willingness and flexibility to travel across the UK and Europe for short periods

• Familiarity with ERP systems or inventory management software is advantageous

Salary and Benefits:This role is paying £30 - £35k or equivalent hourly rate and offers 3 days in the office and two at home
