We are seeking a Specifications Technologist to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for managing product specifications, ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer standards, and supporting the successful launch of new products. The ideal candidate will work closely with the NPD Manager and cross-functional teams, focusing on product specifications, artwork creation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Specifications Management: Complete and maintain all internal and external product specifications, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Coordinate with suppliers to validate and update product information.
- Artwork Creation & Approval: Generate, review, and approve product artwork, ensuring adherence to brand and regulatory standards. Collaborate with internal departments to ensure labels and packaging are accurate and compliant.
- Sample Management: Manage sample submission forms and oversee the sample submission process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Project Participation & Stage and Gate Process: Participate in project phases, providing technical support and ensuring specifications meet project and customer requirements.
- Lean Practices & Continuous Improvement: Actively seek opportunities for improvement and support lean initiatives across the department.
- Quality Management System (QMS) & Internal Auditing: Serve as an internal auditor for the QMS, supporting corrective actions and continuous improvement based on audit findings.
- Regulatory Compliance & Customer Standards: Ensure all specifications, packaging, and product information comply with applicable legislation and customer requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related field.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of food industry regulatory requirements and standards (e.g., HACCP, BRCGS).
- Experience: Experience in a similar role within the food industry, preferably in product specifications, packaging, or quality assurance. Familiarity with specification management software and managing compliance standards.
