As a Space Controller with Ocean Network Express, you will coordinate and manage cargo flow and space utilisation for specific SVC loop assigned for Europe Export, while enjoying a hybrid work model and a strong work-life balance.

The Role

  • To perform regular structural review of vessel usage and office performance against allocation assignment & follow-up on any performance deviations providing insight analysis of cargo patterns and forecasts.
  • Review and coordinate with the Cargo Flow team the assignment of space for empty repositioning.
  • To be familiar with all the related space management documents including/ but not limited to CBFs/ TBUs/ Sitreps / BTL.
  • To coordinate and discuss with RPC/ OPS teams and central Planners the cargo loading submission including/ but not limited to the submission of CBFs.
  • Be proficient and familiar with major space management reports and instruments including Daily Booking report/ Summary of Flow team empty offer/ TBU summary file.
  • To work with regions / MKTG teams and monitor any deviations in performance, providing guidance and directions based on cargo pattern analysis to maximise overall trade profitability.
  • Creation and management of dashboards for various KPI’s, analysis of data and summarising actions to be taken.

  • Coordinate cargo portfolio strategy analysis with a view to maximising revenue return.
  • Prepare daily / weekly cargo trend analysis/booking monitoring reports which facilitate the process management & optimisation of vessel allocations and trade profitability.
  • Support the European Pricing team and Space management daily activities with clear guidance and cargo trend analysis.
  • Manage optimal cargo routing tables for Europe / MED - Asia trade, Setting and maintenance of route priority, cross referencing against internal way port allocations. Identifying underutilised routes and promotion to respective pricing personnel.
  • To be fully proficient with all Trade Management inhouse System Modules and perform timely and accurate review & maintenance of the same when & where required, including but not limited to new system enhancements.
  • Take on ad hoc projects as directed by the Marketing Manager.
  • Show proficiency in dealing with new system enhancements and data analysis to support daily pricing and space management decisions.

The Requirements

  • Proven ability to analyse complex amounts of data and create ad hoc analysis when required.
  • Knowledge of data studio, power pivot would be preferable
  • Strong knowledge of Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
  • Knowledge of system programming (desirable)
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines

  • Previous pricing / Space control liner shipping experience is desirable but not essential.
