Software Project Manager

Location: Hybrid working in Bristol

Salary: Up to £72,000 per annum + 21% Bonus

A market leading global company within the defence sector are looking for an experienced Software Project Manager with a passion for innovative software to join them in Bristol. You will be delivering cutting-edge software solutions for middleware and embedded systems within aerospace electronics and weapons systems.

This position is subject to security clearance and so all candidates must be British Citizens and have resided in the UK for the last 5 years. Previous or current SC and DV clearance is highly beneficial.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Project Manage the middleware software layer design of integrated systems
• Deliver leading weapon systems software design projects
• Hands on involvement with the technical design
• Ensure software is reliable, safe, secure and fulfils the full brief
• Manage, prioritise and deliver multiple projects to agreed parameters and timeline
• Work package management, task allocation, progress tracking, reporting, bid estimation and supplier management
• Work closely with stakeholders internally, externally through customer engagement and 3rd party suppliers

Experience & Knowledge

• Previous project management experience of integrated software systems
• Demonstrable experience of engaging stakeholder and client management within complex software systems delivery
• Combined technical leadership and project management skills to collaborate on complex software issues
• Strong technical background and understanding of software design and development with a passion for software to be able to help design, implement and integrate software solutions
• Prince2, Agile, SDLC and other relevant certifications would be beneficial
