Job Description :
Pure are delighted to be working with a leading Global manufacturer based in Chelmsford. It supplies a wide range of industries across the world, and due to continued expansion they are now seeking an experienced Software & Programming Engineer on a permanent basis.You will be part of a team who engage in producing, modifying and upgrading new and legacy production equipment, used for the manufacture of RF products.  You will be part of a growing team who thrive on the challenge of producing bespoke equipment and working to high standards.  You will already have sound programming experience, and be willing to share with and learn from the existing team and adopting their methodologies.  Due to the nature of security requirements, some of these posts will be reserved for sole UK nationals only.Your responsibilities will include:
  • Writing software for control and automation systems for bespoke equipment.
  • Programming of Mitsubishi PLC ladder code using GX Works, GX Developer
  • Programming of mainly Red Lion, sometimes Pro-face, Mitsubishi & Siemens HMIs
  • Programming of Eurotherm temperature controllers and data acquisition devices
  • Programming LabVIEW software for virtual front ends of equipment.
  • Producing technical documentation on process/data flows
  • Working with a high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Organisation and prioritisation of own workload
  • Provide progress updates to the team leader
The ideal applicant will possess the following skills, experience and qualifications;Essential
  • Engineering qualifications such as HNC, Degree or equivalent
  • Ability to work from detailed technical specifications, drawings and manuals
  • Experience with visual and text based coding
  • Ability to work to deadlines and budgets
  • Quality checking of own work and others
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Ability to work using own initiative with minimal supervision on technical aspects.
Desirable
  • Previous experience of working in a design & manufacturing environment
  • Experience with bespoke machinery and one-off concept work.
  • Knowledge of other engineering areas; electrical, mechanical, gases, pneumatics, hydraulics etc.
  • Use of Autodesk PDMC; AutoCAD Electrical, Inventor 3D and others
  • Experience of programming and software creation for machine control and process automation
