Overview:

This is a fantastic opportunity to launch your career in software development through QA Ltd’s industry-leading Level 4 Software Engineer Apprenticeship. You’ll gain hands-on experience while developing the skills needed to become a professional developer.

Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside senior developers to design and build software solutions
  • Develop responsive web applications using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and frameworks like React
  • Learn backend development with PHP, SQL, and microservices architecture
  • Participate in testing and debugging using tools like Selenium and Postman
  • Contribute to DevOps practices using Git, Docker, and Jenkins
  • Engage in agile development and code reviews
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices

Required skills:

  • Passion for coding and software development
  • Basic knowledge of PHP, JavaScript, React, CSS, MySQL/HTML
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Proactive and curious mindset
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently
  • UK driving licence and own vehicle due to the location of the office

Entry requirements:

  • The learner must have completed a Level 3 Software Development Apprenticeship with QA or have an equivalent qualification with another training provider
  • OR an A-level in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) subject and a successful completion of our aptitude test
  • OR a BTEC Diploma in IT and a successful completion of our aptitude test
  • OR 2 years’ experience in a relevant role and successful completion of our aptitude test

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Working hours:

Monday to Friday, 9am – 5:30pm. 4 days work from home, 1 day from the office. 1 hour lunch break.

Future prospects:

Successful apprentices may progress into a Junior Software Developer role with a salary of £23,000 – £25,000, with further opportunities for career growth within CANDDi or the wider tech industry.
