About the Role:Randstad is recruiting for a dedicated Social Worker to join the newly established Pre-Birth Team in Newcastle.The team focuses on providing intensive support and holistic assessments for expectant parents, ensuring they are equipped to provide safe and appropriate care for their newborns from birth. This position is crucial in helping parents achieve and sustain positive changes, promoting the welfare and safety of the child.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive pre-birth assessments to evaluate the needs and risks.
• Provide targeted support and interventions during pregnancy.
• Work collaboratively with family support workers and other professionals.
• Make evidence-based decisions to ensure the best outcomes for children and families.
• Plan and manage safeguarding measures, including initiating care proceedings if necessary.

Requirements:

• Registration with Social Work England.
• Enhanced DBS check.
• Valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
• In-depth knowledge of statutory frameworks, policies, and best practices in social work.
• Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
• Degree in Social Work or equivalent.
