Are you a dedicated and experienced Social Worker with a passion for frontline safeguarding? Northamptonshire County Council is seeking an enthusiastic Social Worker to join our committed Safeguarding Team!

Our Safeguarding Teams are at the heart of this commitment, working directly with families to implement and review Child Protection Plans, reduce risk, and achieve positive, sustainable outcomes for children.
The RoleAs a Social Worker in the Safeguarding Team, you will manage a varied caseload of children and families where a Child Protection Plan is in place. Your key responsibilities will include:
Managing a caseload of children subject to Child Protection Plans, undertaking statutory visits and assessments.
Implementing and reviewing Child Protection Plans in partnership with children, their families, and a range of multi-agency professionals.
Convening and chairing Core Group meetings and attending Child Protection Conferences to contribute to a collaborative, multi-agency approach to safeguarding.
Completing robust risk assessments and safety plans, continuously monitoring and responding to risk factors to ensure a child's safety.
Working proactively and collaboratively with partners from Health, Education, Police, and other services to provide an integrated response to family needs.
Preparing high-quality, analytical, and evidence-based reports for statutory meetings and, where necessary, for pre-proceedings and court.
Maintaining accurate, analytical, and timely electronic records in line with statutory requirements and council policies.
Building good working relationships with children and families to support positive change and improve outcomes.
We are looking for a highly motivated and resilient Social Worker with:
A recognised Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW).
Current registration with Social Work England.
Demonstrable experience working in a frontline, safeguarding, or child protection team within children's social care.
A strong and confident understanding of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989 and Working Together to Safeguard Children.
Exceptional assessment, risk analysis, decision-making, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in challenging circumstances.
The ability to manage a demanding caseload efficiently and prioritise tasks under pressure.
A profound commitment to child-centred practice and promoting the welfare of children.
A full UK driving licence and access to a car for business use (or ability to travel efficiently across the county).
