Purpose of the Role

To lead and manage a Multi-Agency Support Team (MAST), ensuring high-quality early help services are delivered to families. The Practice Manager will provide professional leadership, supervision, and operational management, embedding evidence-based practice that improves outcomes and reduces the need for statutory intervention.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage, and oversee the day-to-day operations of a locality-based MAST

  • Supervise and performance-manage social workers, family intervention workers, and practitioners

  • Promote reflective, evidence-based practice across the team

  • Ensure timely, proportionate early help support for children and families

  • Oversee and quality-assure assessments and family support plans

  • Provide expert professional advice and case consultation

  • Strengthen partnerships with schools, health, police, and community services

  • Represent the service at multi-agency panels, forums, and partnership meetings

  • Monitor compliance with safeguarding procedures and escalate concerns where appropriate

  • Use data, audits, and feedback to drive service improvement

  • Lead training sessions, workshops, and practice development opportunities for staff
