We are seeking a Skilled Utility Operative to join our team. This role involves carrying out installation and maintenance of footways, carriageways, drainage systems, and street lighting, ensuring high standards of work and safety at all times.

• Perform reactive repairs and maintenance on highways and drainage systems, including gully cleansing and jetting.
• Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations.
• Accurately complete required documentation.
• Utilise handheld devices and computer systems as necessary.
• Communicate effectively with council staff, engineers, and the public.
• Operate vehicles and plant equipment within license and certification limits.
• Participate in training and development activities.
• Perform other duties appropriate to the role and grade.

• Essential Qualifications:
  • LGV Class 2 Driving Licence
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills
• Desirable Qualifications:
  • Lorry Loader Certificate
  • High Pressure Jetting Certification
  • Confined Space Training
  • Electrical Safety Competency
• Experience:
  • Experience with street lighting equipment, operating lorry loader cranes, and using gully cleansing and jetting equipment is desirable.
• Skills & Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of Chapter 8 regulations and relevant health and safety legislation is desirable.
  • Essential customer service awareness.
