We are seeking a competent and experienced Site Safety Manager to oversee health and safety operations during the installation of a mechanical product on a construction site. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of all personnel by developing, implementing, and monitoring safety procedures, with a strong emphasis on producing and reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, review, and implement comprehensive RAMS for all mechanical installation activities.
- Ensure all site operations are carried out in compliance with health and safety legislation, company policies, and project-specific requirements.
- Conduct site safety inspections, audits, and daily briefings/toolbox talks.
- Monitor high-risk activities and provide practical safety guidance to project teams.
- Liaise with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to enforce safety protocols and promote a culture of safety.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; document findings and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure all workers are competent and adequately trained for their tasks, including understanding the RAMS.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety records, permits, and reports.
- Conduct inductions for new personnel, including familiarization with site-specific RAMS and emergency procedures.
- Keep current with industry regulations and best practices to ensure continuous improvement of safety processes.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- Demonstrated experience in writing, reviewing, and implementing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- NEBOSH Diploma or Certificate
- CSCS Card
- First Aid/CPR certification (preferred).
