LOCATION: York - but quite a lot of work away from home

HOURS: Monday to Friday - occasionally weekend work, but only by agreement

SALARY: Competitive Basic salary plus overtime

DURATION: Permanent

A full UK Driving Licence is essential for this role.

My client is seeking to appoint a full time, permanent Site Engineer. This is water industry related, so any engineering experience from within the Water Industry would be desirable (or any of their Tier 1 contractors).

You will be part of a team who are undertaking the mechanical installation of water and sewage treatment equipment on various sites throughout the UK (which can require significant time working away from home).

You will be involved in the maintenance and servicing of ejector and pumping stations at MOD sites; schools; local authorities; hospitality; and industrial sectors.

You will have a recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or C&G, NVQ 4 or equivalent and you will be the kind of person who is interested in continuing your professional development.

A CSCS card (or equivalent) would be desirable (but not essential) as would construction or engineering specific qualifications such as scaffold or telehandler. Confined spaces training would also be desirable (but not essential).

My client is looking for a person who is keen to have a real career with them for many years, so training and continual development will be offered.

You will be customer facing, so you need to have great communication skills, be a good listener, have excellent timekeeping and be able to plan and organise effectively.

You will have great self-organisational skills and be able to work effectively without close supervision.

With the ability to read and work with engineering drawings, you will be skilled in "hands-on" installation maintenance, diagnosis and repair of a range of mechanical plant and equipment and able to write a report of work carried out.

It is essential that you have a knowledge of the mechanical engineering and/or construction industry, with a working knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation.

You will have experience of lifting techniques, both mechanical and manual.

Do you feel this is the role you've been looking for? If so, please let me have your CV as soon as possible, with an indication of the realistic basic salary you are seeking.
