Site Engineer - VGC Group : Job Details

As part of the major infrastructure programme underway at the Devonport site, VGC are recruiting Site Engineers for a Tier 1 main contractor who are delivering substantial upgrades to existing infrastructure that will support the future capability of the Royal Navy and the UK’s Defence Nuclear Enterprise. 

Due to continued growth, the position of Site Engineer has become available to join our successful team based in Plymouth.

We are working on an infrastructure upgrade programme to support the MODs future requirements in relation to both its warship and submarine programme.

Please note you must be eligible for Security Clearance to be considered for this role. 

Key Accountabilities:

•         Co-ordination of sub-contractor activities

•         Ensuring project documentation is completed for hand-over and Take Over

•         Studying drawings and technical documents and raising technical queries for clarification of any conflicting information

Role Requirements

• A good understanding of site delivery and buildability
• Flexibility and adaptability to be able to confidently respond to unexpected events and problems.
• Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering related qualification HNC, HND, BSc MSc, BEng, MEng (preferred or experience qualified)
