Simulation and Modelling Engineer - MBDA : Job Details

Salary: Up to £55,000 (depending on experience)

Simulation and Modelling Engineer

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team working on fast-moving and challenging projects has arisen within the Simulation and Modelling Future Systems group. Working primarily in Matlab and Simulink, the Simulation & Modelling department at MBDA are responsible for the development and integration of subsystems to form complex numerical models for missile and system performance assessment.

The work within the team is varied and, depending on project and experience, may involve:

• Developing component models
• Integrating models/components that are external to the team and/or company
• Developing a modelling framework/environment to be leveraged by many projects across the business
• You will perform technical analyses and investigations into a full range of issues and problems and prepare and develop solutions either individually or as part of a team.
• You will be expected to engage with the model users, understand and respond to their needs and ensure that the model is fit for its intended use.
• Participating in peer review of work across the team

On the job training will be provided.

A number of positions are currently available at a range of levels depending on experience.

• Programming experience or an eagerness to learn
• Forward thinking, planning, and critical thinking
• Clear and concise communication skills
• Curious and adaptable

Desirable

• Experience of programming in MATLAB and Simulink
• Experience with configuration control
• Experience of working within a system-of-systems framework
• Experience of working with external model suppliers
• An understanding of modelling and software development processes
