Location: Telford, ShropshireJob Type: Permanent, Full-Time (37.5 hours/week)Shift Pattern: To be confirmed — flexibility required for all shift options

Are you a quality-driven professional ready to take on an exciting new challenge in a high-tech manufacturing environment? We are currently seeking a proactive and motivated Shift Quality Engineer to join a leading advanced manufacturing site specialising in high-pressure aluminium die casting for the automotive industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and support quality activities during product launches, engineering changes, and safe launch (GP12) initiatives.

  • Conduct capability studies and gauge validations (MSA).

  • Interpret technical drawings and perform dimensional analyses on finished components.

  • Maintain compliance with project milestones, producing and managing necessary documentation (e.g. control plans, work instructions, quality records).

  • Perform quality audits and investigate both internal and customer quality issues.

  • Liaise with suppliers, internal teams, and customers to drive quality improvements.

  • Champion lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.

  • Support and promote Health, Safety & Environmental policies across the department and site.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Strong understanding of APQP, PPAP, SPC, FMEA, MSA, and root cause analysis.

  • Experience with manufacturing quality systems (IATF 16949).

  • Solid engineering knowledge in die casting, metal forming, assembly, or related manufacturing areas.

  • Results-oriented with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a medium to high volume production environment.

  • Familiarity with SAP or similar production systems.

  • Knowledge of CNC machining, heat treatment, and assembly operations.

  • Self-motivated and assertive, with a proactive approach to problem solving.

  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Flexible and willing to support a 3-shift and occasional weekend production schedule.

  • Capable of adapting to changing priorities and assignments.

  • Eligible to work in the UK.

Work Environment:

The role is based in a busy manufacturing facility with exposure to typical plant conditions, including temperature variations, noise, and industrial equipment. Full health and safety training and PPE will be provided.
