Job Title: Shift Manager

Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday (days and nights - 2 week rotation)
Highlighted Responsibilities:
Ensure all Health and Safety regulations are adhered to in order to ensure a zero-accident culture is developed on shift.
Ensure that the packing/production plans for each shift are met on time in full.
Constantly monitor and optimise efficiencies of both machinery and labour.
Continuously monitor waste and implement action plans to reduce total wastage on the shift.
Monitor daily actual giveaway against costed giveaway and implement action plans to ensure giveaway is at costed or below.
Analyse main causes of downtime on the shift and implement action plans to meet agreed targets.
Monitor and control attendance on the shift through ‘return to work’ interviews.
Ensure that the Company Disciplinary Procedures are followed when appropriate.
Highlight any training or development required by shift personnel and work in conjunction with the Training & Recruitment Administrator to deliver this.
Ensure that all relevant technical policies and procedures are adhered to. A GMP audit must be completed once per every 4-day shift in conjunction with the Technical Department. To work with the QA Auditor to eliminate any daily issues.
Ensure that all products produced or packed are to the quality specification with any out of standard products being rejected.
Deputise for the Site Manager in his/her absence when requested to do so.
Consistently work towards improving costs and promote continuous improvement culture.
Monitor and manage the site key performance indicators (KPI’s) to the agreed site levels.
Manage and coordinate with Hygiene, Engineering and QA functions, during night shift, as the most senior person on site.
Attend Engineering and Hygiene audits when they are undertaken.
Undertake any other duties that could reasonably be expected within the remit of the post.
Requirements:
Demonstrable experience of leading a Team.
Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
Good communication skills are essential (both verbal and written).
Expected to conform to relevant product, quality, safety, and legality procedures as detailed by Line Manager.
