Job Title: Service Coordinator

Location: Croydon (Hybrid working available, 3 days office / 2 remote)

Hourly rate £19.75 PAYE / £26.03 Umbrella per hour

Contract Length: 6-month contract (possibility of extension)

Working Pattern: Full Time, Monday - Friday, 36 hours

Croydon Council is seeking a dedicated Service Coordinator to join our Children's Social Care team. This is a vital role providing high-quality administrative, clerical, and ICT support to practitioners, social workers, and managers across our practice system.

?? What You'll Be Doing

• Supporting frontline teams to deliver timely and effective services to Croydon's residents.
• Managing administrative functions including minute-taking, financial transactions, and panel coordination.
• Operating and advising on key systems such as EHM and CRS.
• Collaborating with internal teams and external partners including schools, health services, and community organisations.
• Upholding data protection and confidentiality standards.
• Contributing to service improvements and supporting new staff induction.

? What We're Looking For

Essential Knowledge & Skills:

• Understanding of Children's Social Care and safeguarding principles.
• Strong administrative and ICT skills, including database management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure.
• Commitment to equality, diversity, and continuous professional development.

Experience:

• Previous experience in a Children's Social Care or similar environment.
• Proven ability to manage complex administrative tasks and minute high-level meetings.
• Experience working with the public and professionals with empathy and professionalism.
