At FCDO Services, we protect the UK’s interests at home and overseas. We design and construct secure government buildings, courier diplomatic packages worldwide, safeguard government tech, and a whole lot more. Our work is as varied and vital as it gets, but we never lose sight of our people. Their skills, aspirations and growth mean as much as the global mission we're on. In our world, it all matters.

The Digital Sensitivity Review service we’ve developed enables the UK’s Government departments to meet the requirements of Public Records legislation by selecting, reviewing and transferring records consistently and securely for permanent preservation at The National Archives. The growth in digital records means the team are embracing the use of AI and other advanced technologies to tackle the complex challenges we face. The work is vital and protects the UK’s relations with other countries, as well as our defence interests, the intelligence services, and the personal data of individuals, all within a legal framework. And now you have the chance to join them.

Use your judgement to make important decisions

As a Sensitivity Reviewer you will use your excellent judgement to make these decisions. You will be able to quickly grasp complex themes and subject matter. We will add the rest, including a thorough understanding of the applicable legislation.

You have an excellent eye for detail. In a report you’ll be able to spot the one sentence that is sensitive. You are efficient, thorough, and bring the highest level of commitment to providing an impeccable service for our customers.

Your decisions contribute to the public record and maintain national security.

Be at the forefront of technology

It is an exciting time to join us as we develop a ground-breaking digital review system to deal with the rapidly increasing volume of digital records which began in the early Nineties. We are also reviewing digital records for other Government Departments. You will work with digital and paper records and contribute to the ongoing development of the Sensitivity Review Service.

Having ideally worked in HM Diplomatic Service, for another Government Department or for an international institution like the EU or the UN, you will have practical experience of navigating the subtleties of cultural difference and an understanding of how Governments and international organisations ‘operate’.

You may be looking for your next challenge within Government or public service or you may have transferrable skills from your career. Whatever your background you will have valuable experience and expertise to offer.

Grow your career with full support

This is a role you can feel proud of; and we aim to make every part of your career just as rewarding. That’s why when you join us, expect to receive a competitive salary, generous holiday entitlement and a Civil Service Pension. Along with this, you’ll also have access to training and other development opportunities to help grow your career with us. Our offices have an on-site gym, nursery, café, and restaurant, and we offer interest-free loans on season tickets and bikes to help you get there. It's a great set of benefits made to support all you do, and all you need.

All our employees have to be security cleared before joining us, so you will need to undergo a vetting process if you’re successful in your application. This role will require you to undergo Developed Vetting (DV) clearance. You can find out more about vetting on our website.

Sensitivity Reviewers are graded FCDO Services D6 (equivalent to Civil Service Grade 7). Hanslope Park based posts attract a Location Allowance of £1,750 per annum.

FCDO Services recruitment is regulated by the Civil Service Commission.
