Job Description :

Randstad are recruiting for a Senior Validation & Verification Engineer for a client based in Bristol. They are a rapidly growing company that specialise in manufacturing high pressure hydraulic components and systems for a variety of industries. This particular role will sit within their hydraulic valves team.

The successful candidate will be a key part of a team responsible for validation and verification of the Valve products and will prepare and carry out test plans against customer and internal requirements. You will leverage real-time data acquisition and analysis from industry leading test rigs and in-house software ecosystem to ensure the products remain the go-to choice for performance applications.

This role is an ideal fit for a multi-disciplined engineer who can employ a deep understanding of, and work with, engineers from the electronics, software, and mechanical engineering teams as the product is matured from concept through early prototype and type testing, and into volume production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Get hands on with the products and become a technical expert in a market leading product line
  • Drive product improvements by going deep with data analysis, utilising cutting-edge digital tools and solid engineering analysis
  • Design and implement test plans, working with the digital and rig design teams to deliver testing using existing and new test rig hardware and software
  • Be proactive in identifying problems and proposing solutions
  • Maintain a high standard of work quality, ensuring compliance with internal and customer requirements
  • Participate in the identification and implementation of new tools, equipment, and methodologies to enhance the product validation and verification process
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices, ensuring that validation and verification processes remain at the forefront of technology

Essential requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience in product validation and verification, preferably in the hydraulics, fluid dynamics, or related industries
  • Demonstrated an ability to work with engineering skills covering mechanical, electronics, and software engineering
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Proficiency in relevant tools and software used in product validation and verification, and engineering analysis

Beneficial requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of servo valve technology, hydraulic systems, and associated testing methodologies is a plus
  • An understanding of electronics and embedded software
  • A passion for innovation and continuous improvement, with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing process enhancements
  • Programming and data analysis using Python, Matlab or similar

This is a full time permanent position with a salary of £35,000-£45,000 depending on experience, flexible start and finish times and a 9 day working fortnight, so you will have every other Friday off as well.

The role is fully on site and will predominantly be based at our client's production facility just outside of Bristol.
