The Opportunity

We’re looking for two experienced Senior Underwriters to join a successful Property & Casualty team in Chelmsford – one specialising in New Business, the other in Existing Business. You’ll work closely with a panel of around 20 top broker partners, managing a varied mid-market portfolio across sectors such as large property portfolios, leisure, and more.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Handling mid-market cases with premiums from £5k to £500k (average £10k–£25k).
• Maintaining and growing relationships with brokers across Essex, London, and East Anglia.
• 60% Property, 40% Casualty split.
• Managing renewal retention or new business enquiries
• Visiting broker partners and attending the office 2–3 days per week.
• Contributing to the team’s growth target

Looking For

• 5+ years’ underwriting experience, ideally in the mid-market space (Property & Casualty).
• Strong broker relationship skills.
