Founded in 1837, our client is the world’s largest community of postgraduate art and design students. It is also the oldest art and design university in continuous operation and has been ranked as the world ‘s number 1 art and design university for a remarkable nine consecutive years according to the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023 – the worldwide survey of academic and industry opinion.

They are seeking outstanding practitioners and researchers to contribute towards the ongoing work of the School of Design and the College more broadly.

Taking a role in the shaping and delivery of curriculum within the programmes in the School of Design, the successful candidate will lead on the organisation of exhibitions and events, deliver workshops, seminars, crits and tutorials, including participating in and chairing examination panels. You will contribute to discussions about the development of the programmes and School and pioneer new ways of teaching and conducting research. This is an interdisciplinary design role and the successful candidate will contribute to all programmes, particularly across the College, the Grand Challenge, Electives and the new Design Futures programme.

Your research will be expected to operate at a high level, consistently producing research outputs of at least 3* REF quality to enable submission to the REF. You will pursue funding opportunities for your research and involve colleagues in collaborative projects and contributing to the rich research culture and environment of the School as described in the School’s Research Plan.

The successful candidate will seek always to promote the college and its staff and students, acting always as a positive advocate for the College. You will have a commitment to high quality teaching and fostering a positive learning environment for students, as well as continuous professional development. You will have evidence of the ability to supervise academic work at masters and doctoral level.
