ROLE SUMMARY:The Senior Technologist Applied Analytics role is primarily responsible for executing assigned tasks utilizing laboratory equipment and expertise across various projects and activities within New Categories product development. The role supports the delivery of the commercial vision of a product in the R&D pipeline.

KEY OBJECTIVES AND EXPECTATIONS:

  • Execute assigned tasks using laboratory equipment and expertise across a range of projects within New Categories product development.
  • Support the delivery of the commercial vision of a product in the R&D pipeline.
  • Utilize knowledge of New Categories lab methodologies for Vapour, THP, and Modern Oral products.
  • Provide analytical data and technical interpretation to guide decision-making in product and technology development.

DIRECT IMPACT:

  • Utilize knowledge and expertise to assist in prototype screening and decision-making processes in product development.
  • Provide analytical data crucial for guiding decisions in product and technology development.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Lead assigned projects and activities within the Analytical team.
  • Work closely with the New Categories Analytical Manager to plan product testing within required time frames.
  • Hold expertise in operating required machinery and testing capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with best practices and technical knowledge.
  • Understand testing methodologies and equipment capabilities.
  • Minimize risk by escalating issues with workstream delivery.
  • Maintain confidentiality of technology and compositions.
  • Promote and integrate efficient ways of working within the Analytical team.
  • EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE:ESSENTIAL:

    • Ability to deliver against a portfolio of tasks within defined timescales.
    • Broad understanding of product testing approaches and data interpretation.
    • Proficiency with a broad range of techniques such as GC-FID, HPLC, HPLC/MS/MS, Karl Fischer, and smoking engines.
    • Good analytical skills and data-affinity.
    • Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Ability to work unsupervised and under pressure while maintaining flexibility.

    TECHNICAL / FUNCTIONAL / LEADERSHIP SKILLS:

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to collaborate with internal/external capabilities.
    • Effective planning and prioritization based on business needs.

    EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Degree or equivalent in Chemistry or a relevant physical science

    This role is initially for 12 months with the possibility for extension

    Hours: 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

    Pay:

    £16.59 per hour (PAYE)

    Salary : 16.59 - 16.59
