A forward-thinking built environment consultancy is seeking a Senior Sustainability Consultant to join their growing Sustainability team in Bristol. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-impact sustainability strategies and assessments across a diverse portfolio of projects, working closely with clients, architects, and multidisciplinary teams to drive environmental excellence and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of sustainability strategies for new and existing developments across various sectors including commercial, education, residential, and mixed-use.
- Undertake environmental assessments such as BREEAM, HQM, SKA, and Fitwel, providing clear and concise recommendations to clients and design teams.
- Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure sustainability goals are embedded from early concept through to project completion.
- Contribute to decarbonisation strategies, life cycle assessments (LCAs), and circular economy statements.
- Deliver client-facing presentations, attend design team meetings, and manage certification processes.
- Mentor junior consultants and provide oversight of CPD development within the team.
- Stay informed of evolving sustainability regulations, planning requirements, and industry trends.
Desirable Criteria:
- 3+ years' experience as a Sustainability Consultant.
- MSc in Sustainability and Consultancy.
- Qualified BREEAM New Construction Assessor.
- Accredited BREEAM AP.
- HQM Assessor certification.
- Fitwel Assessor (Higher Education and Retail).
- SKA certification.
- Proven experience in managing multiple internal and external CPDs simultaneously.
- Experience delivering circular economy assessments and related documentation.
- Proficiency in OneClick LCA for both embodied carbon (WLCA) and whole life assessments.
- Experience leading both Greater London Authority (GLA) and non-GLA projects through planning and delivery stages.
