Role Purpose

To lead by example in delivering strength-based, person-centred care for adults in the Medway area. As a Senior Social Worker, you'll be responsible for managing complex cases, mentoring team members, and actively contributing to the development of services that empower individuals to live independently and safely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional supervision and mentoring to qualified and unqualified social care staff.

  • Manage a complex caseload involving safeguarding and high-risk situations with expert-level decision-making.

  • Conduct holistic, strengths-based assessments and support plans for individuals, engaging key stakeholders.

  • Champion early intervention and prevention strategies to reduce long-term care dependency.

  • Support service development through quality assurance, audits, and targeted improvement plans.

  • Contribute to the training and development of social work students and apprentices.

  • Actively support budget-conscious decision-making in care planning and service delivery.

Essential Requirements
  • Social Work Degree and current registration with Social Work England.

  • Minimum 2 to 3 years' post-qualified experience, including work on complex safeguarding cases.

  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring, supervision, and contributing to staff development.

  • Proven ability to manage workloads effectively while maintaining quality and compliance.

  • Competency in using Microsoft Office and integrated care systems (e.g., MOSAIC).
