Role Summary

Reports to the C2C Lead Architect and works with other colleagues across the wider programme team and business, to apply expert technical knowledge and experience of Salesforce to support the most appropriate solutions with detailed architecture design and technical specifications.

This is a hands-on role that requires significant technical experience with multiple Salesforce clouds including Sales Cloud and Marketing Cloud (Service, Data and Experience Cloud a bonus) and ideally experience with related Conga Quote to Cash technologies running on top of the Salesforce platform. We are looking for a technical architect with at least 5 years proven experience and certification as a Salesforce Technical Architect or Application and Systems Architect (all preferred). This role will not suit Solution / Functional Architects (Cloud Consultants as Salesforce refers to them).

Core Duties/Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Leading technical understanding of requirements and assessment to support the most appropriate solutions
  • Architect scalable and efficient solutions that leverage the Salesforce platform's capabilities, including declarative features, Apex, Lightning components, and integrations working with middleware
  • Assessing, advocate for and approve external technologies, such as Salesforce AppExchange packages, for their suitability
  • Guiding various aspects of project DevOps including sandbox strategy, metadata and data migration, environment comparisons and version control
  • Supporting project delivery defining business, functional, technical and non-functional requirements
  • Providing technical governance and risk management during discovery, design and delivery
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to developers, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.

Skills, Capabilities and Attributes

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience, skills and behaviours:

Mandatory

  • Certified Salesforce System Architect
  • Certified Salesforce Application Architect
  • Extensive proven experience as a Salesforce Technical Architect, with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects
  • Extensive knowledge of Salesforce platform architecture, including data model, security model, and integration capabilities including through middleware, ideally AWS
  • Proficiency in Salesforce development technologies, such as Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, and Salesforce APIs
  • Experience of working with third party suppliers and system integrators
  • Hands-on knowledge of Salesforce Clouds and AppExchange solutions
  • Strong analytical skills, problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to persuade and influence
  • Ability to produce accurate work under pressure with frequent deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, especially with virtual geographically diverse teams
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge supportively and effectively where appropriate.

Desirable

  • Certified Salesforce Technical Architect
  • Experience with Conga products including CPQ, CLM and Billing
  • Web development skills including CSS, JavaScript, HTML, XML are added advantage
  • Software development fundamentals such as knowledge of data structures, object-oriented programming, relational database design, and design patterns
  • Data modelling, SQL, integration with Web Services (SOAP / REST / XML)) WS-* stack and WSDL
