Senior Risk Manager - Huntswood : Job Details

Huntswood is looking for Senior Risk Manager to lead and deliver projects within a fast-growing insurance group. If you are a Risk Manager who's confident working independently, brings solid experience to the table, and knows how to keep things on track across a variety of risk-focused projects then this could be a great opportunity for you.

As Senior Risk Manager, you'll lead the redesign of the corporate risk register, aligning it with strategic goals and regulatory standards. You'll embed risk ownership across the business, develop practical assessment methods, and ensure key controls are clearly defined and effective. The role also involves integrating risk into governance processes, supporting a strong risk culture, and advising on FCA and PRA compliance, with a focus on conduct, prudential, and operational risks.

Role overview

Location: Hybrid working model with occasional travel to client's offices nationwide

Rate: £750 a day - Outside PSC recruitment - This role has been determined as outside of IR35, the rate quoted is inclusive of all employer costs

Start Date: ASAP

The ideal Senior Risk Manager will have:

• Demonstrable experience in a senior risk leadership role within the insurance sector
• A strong track record of embedding risk management practices into operational processes and governance
• Understanding of how to design and apply risk frameworks that support strong governance and meet evolving regulatory demands
• Hands-on experience turning complex risk data into clear insights by building effective controls, measuring what matters, and identifying where risk truly sits
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation
• Ability to work independently and consistently deliver high-quality outcomes with minimal oversight
