Are you ready to shape the future of high-speed optical communication? A cutting-edge R&D team is looking for a Senior RF Photonics Design Engineer to contribute to the development of advanced silicon photonics technologies at the forefront of the industry.
As part of a collaborative and innovative team, you will:
- Develop next-generation silicon photonics platforms
- Focus on RF design in traveling-wave modulators, including traveling lines, Baluns, biasing, and termination circuits
- Evaluate modulators using a variety of material systems and physical effects (e.g., Pockels effect, plasma dispersion)
- Innovate and implement equalization techniques to boost bandwidth and control dispersion
- Work closely with the driver team to deliver optimized solutions
- Lead the characterization of high-speed modulators and coordinate with test engineers
- Define test plans, analyse experimental data, and validate photonic components and subsystems
- Collaborate across component, module, and fabrication process teams
Education:
- Ph.D. in Photonics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field with 3+ years of experience
- OR M.Sc. with 6+ years of experience
Experience:
- Proven track record in photonic component design using silicon photonics or III-V materials
- Experience in project management for high-speed modulator development
- Strong proficiency in RF modeling tools (e.g., CST, HFSS, ADS, COMSOL)
- Hands-on experience in RF characterization of high-speed components
- General understanding of silicon photonics devices and fabrication flows
- Proficiency with layout tools (e.g., Tanner L-Edit, Luceda Ipkiss)
- Familiarity with Python and Linux is a plus
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
