Senior R&D Scientist – Formulation and Product Development - Science & Technology Recruitment : Job Details

Our client is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior R&D Scientist to join their dynamic Research & Development team. This role focuses on the formulation and development of new products, particularly in the coatings and adhesives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and contribute to both short- and long-term R&D projects focused on the development of coatings, adhesives, and resins.
• Formulate and test new products, evaluating experimental polymers against controls using established industry testing protocols.
• Provide clear and actionable recommendations based on test results.
• Drive continuous improvement in formulation capabilities.
• Offer technical support across departments, including production and customer-facing teams.
• Act as a subject matter expert in product performance and application.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including product data sheets and customer-facing literature.
• Conduct competitive product research and analysis.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of experiments, findings, and conclusions.
• Communicate progress through written reports and verbal presentations.
• Support product scale-up and commercialization efforts, including on-site evaluations when necessary.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in formulating and testing coatings and/or adhesive products.
• Strong knowledge of polymers and additives used in coatings and adhesive formulations.
• BSc in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Self-motivated, results-driven, and capable of working independently.
• Willingness and ability to travel occasionally for product evaluations and commercialization support.
