Senior Project Manager | Gloucestershire | £43,000 - £50,000

The Senior Project Manager will be passionate about improving services for staff and service users. The post-holder will bring experience of working across different services in private and public-sector, service re-design and improvement methodologies and will be confident in working across organisational boundaries to deliver projects to time and budget. The post-holder will also support other colleagues in co-ordinating, managing and reporting on their projects for the Senior Management Team and the Board.

Responsibilities:

  • To lead on agreed time limited projects as well as provide operational support to the Director of Change and Governance, MD and other SLT members with said projects.
  • To lead project partners in the delivery of the plans, allocating tasks as appropriate, identifying risks, issues and dependencies, considering best practice and current options and ultimately making decisions in the best interest of the project.
  • To be responsible for a high standard of work supporting the delivery of the projects on time, to quality standards and in a cost-effective manner.
  • To provide support to the MD’s office in all operational requirements and support day to day management of the office.
  • Support Director of Change and Governance with supervision and appraisals where required.
  • To support with all Governance requirements and Board related matters working closely with support team members.
  • To co-ordinate and consolidate all Project, Programme reporting including monitoring of Business Plan Progress and other Board and committee papers/presentations as and when required.
  • The post holder will need to gain immediate credibility with clinical and corporate teams and develop and maintain effective working relationships at all levels with internal and external stakeholders.
  • The post requires a high level of communication and complex negotiation with Directors, Senior Managers and Clinicians in the NHS, and the public and private sectors.
  • The post holder will have a key role in maximising the effectiveness of clinical and non-clinical resources.
  • The post holder will be expected to quickly gain an understanding of relevant clinical pathways and operational processes to assist Clinicians, senior managers, key stakeholders, health care professionals and colleagues in taking maximum advantage of any investment and realise its benefits.
  • To ensure all projects are fully and formally evaluated and where appropriate that the Trust’s strategic direction is influenced by the results. Ensure that business change and service improvement plans are synchronised with all other relevant programmes that are being undertaken across the organisation.
  • Be responsible for the documentation of risks, issues and lessons learned, and where appropriate facilitate lessons learned workshops with stakeholders.
  • To establish and manage Programme/Project Boards, ensuring the chair and other members are briefed to ensure the desired challenge, decision or outcome is achieved at Board meetings.
  • The design, coordination and facilitation of, and participation in, workshops and short-term working groups developing and implementing improved standard ways of working.

Skills, experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years related service improvement / programme management experience
  • Experience of working in the NHS (or similar fast moving, customer-focused, quality led environment), with demonstrable Programme and project management experience leading change / service improvement with measurable outcomes in a large complex organisation, working across team and organisational boundaries to ensure patient (customer), staff, quality, financial and efficiency benefits are defined and delivered.
  • Demonstrable experience of working with clinicians (or other professional body), and operational staff groups, securing early and consistent engagement.
  • Proven experience and knowledge of relevant business change techniques such as business process re-engineering, capacity and demand analysis, benefits identification and modelling

Salary : 43000 - 50000
