The Role

This is a senior management role at Unite Students and involves the line management of other product professionals. You will have experience in both coaching and line managing product teams, developing product strategies and a deep understanding of the application of product leadership in large organisations.

You will own the overall digital strategy and will bring this to life through the execution of the roadmap with your team. You will ensure the strategic direction, vision and roadmap is clearly articulated to the wider business. You will have a deep passion for our customers, understanding the importance of using insights about how our customers engage with our products to drive innovation and prove or disprove product hypothesis.

What You`ll Be Doing

  • Responsible for defining the overall digital product strategy across the estate, enabling Product Managers to align against their own product strategies.
  • Empower the team to make decisions, creating phycological safety for them to develop, test and learn at speed.
  • As part of the wider business transformation, work across multiple teams to set priorities, manage dependencies and maintain alignment to the overall digital deliverables and strategy.
  • Lead the identification for opportunities for digital products to drive product growth, understanding the value of the initiative and working closely with stakeholders and senior sponsors to ensure buy-in.
  • Create investment cases to support digital initiatives, communicating across all levels of seniority to achieve Exec sponsorship.
  • Drive the appetite for a continuous improvement mindset with senior stakeholders.
  • Define, own and drive the medium and long-term roadmaps to support the overall digital product strategy.
  • Define success metrics and KPI`s to monitor ongoing performance of digital products.
  • Define and own the end-to-end product lifecycle, proactively seeking ways to improve ways of working across the Product Management function.
  • Keep up to date with emerging technologies and market trends, feeding these back into the Product team.

What We`re Looking for in You

  • Proven experience working on technology-powered products as a Senior Product Manager (or other product leadership role).
  • Demonstratethe benefits of modern product discovery and delivery to the wider business.
  • B2C experience.
  • Experience of line management of Product Managers.
  • Proven experience working in a fast-paced agile environment set within a larger complex organisation.
  • Ensure effective leadership to engage with the business, product teams and 3rd party suppliers creating and driving a collaborative, high performance relationship.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to quickly gain the confidence of the business and team members.
  • Ability to understand and use data to drive decisions and prove or dis-prove hypothesis.
  • Understanding of complex business problems to apply technology and the "art of the possible" to solving these problems for the business and our customers.
  • Proven ability to respond to and prioritise changing demands effectively.
  • Strong business instinct and judgement, with a desire to challenge the status quo.
  • Experience of developing products from ideation to delivery across cross-functional teams.
