CFC has gone through a period of significant growth, and with this continued growth has come a significant increase in business-critical projects. As part of that, we are looking for a Senior Portfolio Delivery Manager to lead our team of Project Leaders, Business Analysts and PMO resources to ensure the successful delivery of cross-functional projects that are key to supporting the ambitious growth trajectory.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experience Project Manager/Leader to join a fast growing and innovative an innovative Insurance business that loves to challenge the status quo.

Working closely with project function roles and senior executive stakeholders, you will be primarily responsible for the administration and management of the change portfolio at CFC. You will take a lead role in building and delivering CFC’s programme and project capabilities, inclusive of PMO.

This is a new role designed for an experienced Projects/PMO person who can provide a wealth of knowledge ideally from a consulting background to take this capability to the next level.

About the Role:

Your core focus will be on ensuring the portfolio is adequately prepared to allow your direct reports to deliver their individual projects, this will start with the embedding of the PMO. You will need to communicate successfully in all directions to ensure the changes can be successfully implemented with users.

  • Embed the new Project Management and PMO operating model across CFC
  • Build out the PMO capability to allow for the continued growth of the portfolio.
  • Establish the framework of interactions between project leaders and PMO to promote effective portfolio delivery.
  • Work closely with the IT function to ensure alignment across the portfolio.
  • Pro-actively monitor and drive prioritisation of portfolio needs. Taking a lead role in programme management and delivery, effectively allocating resources for business-critical initiatives.
  • Leading the project leaders, business analysts and PMO effectively through planning, allocation and reporting of work to ensure successful delivery of the portfolio and its objectives.
  • Anticipate, mitigate, and manage dependencies and risks in support of increased portfolio performance.
  • Provide training and skills assessment, as well as mentorship and guidance to project leaders, business analysts and PMO, with a particular focus on high-quality stakeholder engagement practices, project controls and governance methodologies.
  • Drive decision-making around the portfolio, ensuring that key stakeholders are involved and consulted at the right moments, demonstrating strong judgement in your decision-making ability.
  • Manage the Portfolio Working and Steering Groups acting as the key conduit of information from the Portfolio to senior stakeholders. This will include the provision of reporting for these groups.
  • Manage the correct utilisation of project tools and templates, ensuring project plans are accurately represented and continuously updated as a single source of truth.

About you:

You will have an in depth knowledge and understanding of PMO and project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects spanning from multi-million transformation programmes to single team projects with a small number of deliverables.

We are looking for someone with extensive experience in Project delivery across both Agile and Waterfall environments, as well as experience managing and leading a PMO capability. You will also have demonstrable experience with designing and implementing operational and project strategies and a good commercial understanding of budgeting, control and strategic planning.

Your ability to clearly communicate with your team to determine project goals and bring key stakeholders along the journey will be crucial to the role. You will need to manage and build effective relationships with the wider Project and PMO team and other key stakeholders across the business - this will include presentations and providing training and skills assessments.
