They are looking to appoint a Senior Planning Manager to strengthen their planning capability and provide expert direction across a varied portfolio of schemes.

THE SENIOR PLANNING MANAGER ROLE:As Senior Planning Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering planning strategies from early feasibility assessment through policy promotion, applications, EIAs and appeals. You will lead on planning appraisals, interpret national and local planning policy, prepare robust technical reports and coordinate inputs from multi-disciplinary teams. The role is well suited to someone who enjoys detailed planning work, has strong policy understanding and can confidently advise stakeholders on planning risk, strategy and best practice.

SENIOR PLANNING MANAGER ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Degree in Town Planning or a related discipline

  • Chartered Member of the RTPI

  • At least 5 years' experience within consultancy, a housebuilder or the private sector

  • Strong technical understanding of the planning system and current policy landscape

  • Proven ability to produce high-quality planning statements, assessments and strategic advice

  • Experience managing planning applications, EIAs, appeals and plan-making engagement

  • Excellent communication and report-writing capabilities

  • Strong analytical thinking and commercially aware decision making
