We are looking to hire a Senior Nutritionist to sit in Foodbuy, enabling us to have great relationships with our food, culinary, and data teams. You will be responsible for supporting the whole business with compliance for nutrition and allergen legislation.  The nutritionist will be responsible for checking our suppliers provide us with accurate up to date nutrition information for all the products we buy. This information then needs to be transferred to our nutrition analysis system – Saffron. You will be responsible for taking the ingredient nutrition information and nutritionally analysing recipes that will be used across the whole business.  It is imperative that we provide accurate nutrition information to avoid prosecution, financial penalties, and reputational damage; the nutritionist will be responsible for this.

You will advise on new product listings and changes to existing products ensuring that the highest nutritional standards are always met.  They will be responsible for attending meetings with culinary leads from across the business to discuss if new products are nutritional suitable/compliant for their business.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for ensuring nutrition information is available for all products/ingredients and recipes
• Managing our nutrition analysis programme; Saffron
• Attending Foodbuy meetings around new product listings or changes to existing products
• Translating complex nutrition information into simple facts and figures
• Ability to project manage, deliver regular progress updates and ensure successful outcomes
• Work alongside culinary leads and recipe owners to ensure highest nutritional standards
• Provide expert knowledge of legislation around food and nutrition
• Ensure compliance to legislation across the whole business
• Review menus and recipes, and provide feedback on the nutritional content of the offer
• Working in partnership with other members of the nutrition team to share knowledge

Key skills, knowledge and experience required: 

• Graduate of an accredited nutrition degree from university
• Registered with the Association for Nutrition
• Minimum of 3 years work experience
• Experience with managing an effective team
• Ability to establish a strategy and measuring the outcomes
• Confident in communicating to large groups of people and controlling challenging conversations
• Must be willing to travel to and from Chertsey
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to quickly gain credibility with key stakeholder groups
• Professional, organised, presentable, efficient and self-motivated
• A passion for keeping up to date with research and national health events
• Excellent presentation skills
• Excellent IT skills
• Detailed data analysis skills, ability to interpret data and produce high level reports
