SENIOR MECHANICAL DESIGN CIRCA £65,000LONDON Gi Pro are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join an independent consulting business with a focus on projects within healthcare and telecommunications. Currently undertaking projects ranging from several thousand pounds to multi-million-pound projects involving a vast array of engineering services in complex buildings.THE ROLE:As an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Acting as project leader on selected projects
- Working as part of a larger team on certain projects.
- Attending principal meetings and making client presentations on selected projects.
- Raising/promoting the level of technical excellence relating to mechanical engineering within the team.
- Working closely with others in a team environment.
- Producing drawings and specifications.
- Producing calculations or guiding others to complete them.
- Monitoring project costs, time and maintaining project deliverables.
- Production of mechanical system designs and specifications
- Review of mechanical system designs and specifications
- Production of technical reports
- Attending and conducting site surveys
- Coordination with external (architectural, structural, PQS, CDM, etc.) and internal (CAD, Revit, electrical, public health, Sustainability) disciplines.
- Mentoring mechanical engineers and trainees
- Inputting into practice improvements in work methods and delivery
- Collaborating with other Associate Directors and Directors in identifying and implementing new work practices and innovation.
THE PERSON:To be considered for the position of Senior Mechanical Design Engineer you will have:
- A degree qualification - mechanical or building services (Chartered or working towards).
- Considerable experience of design in building services, post qualification completion (8-10 years minimum design experience).
- Operating at a Senior design Engineer role or similar for at least 2-3 years
- Client interaction skills.
- Software design experience ideally including Microsoft Office, Hevacomp or Cymap
- Knowledge of British standards, building regulations documents, etc.
- Knowledge of HTMs would also be of benefit.
- Professional membership of one of the following (CIBSE, IET, IMechE, IHEEM)
