Are you a newly qualified accountant or QBE looking to take the next step in your finance career? We’re recruiting for a Senior Management Accountant to join a dynamic and fast-paced finance team at a large, multi-site organisation with a national and international footprint.
This is a key role within the finance function, responsible for delivering accurate and timely reporting of staff costs while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. You’ll play a central part in month-end processes, payroll analysis, and stakeholder reporting, while also driving process improvements and collaborating closely with HR, Payroll, and the wider business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Prepare and post payroll journals; investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Analyse and report on staff costs and agency accruals using large datasets
- Reconcile key balance sheet accounts (e.g. pensions, employment taxes, benefits)
- Deliver meaningful variance analysis to stakeholders, with a focus on payroll spend
- Support audits and year-end close processes
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and strengthen internal controls
What We're Looking For:
- Newly qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) – finalists and QBE also considered
- Strong Excel and system skills with the ability to work with large datasets
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- A pragmatic, problem-solving mindset
- Experience in a multi-site business environment (desirable)
- Prior experience in the care sector (a bonus, not essential)
