Location: HertfordPermanent | Full-timeSalary: Up to £55,000This is a hands-on role within a collaborative finance function, offering a mix of monthly reporting, analysis, and team support, with real exposure to senior stakeholders and group-level finance.The Role:As Senior Management Accountant, you’ll play a key part in the month-end close process, supporting multiple business units with accurate reporting, insightful analysis, and continuous improvement of financial processes.Key Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of monthly management accounts across multiple entities, including P&L, balance sheet reporting, and variance analysis against budget and forecast
• Oversee day-to-day ledger activities, including review of purchase and sales transactions
• Prepare and submit VAT returns
• Support year-end processes and liaise with external auditors to ensure smooth and timely completion
• Act as a key point of contact for finance-related queries across the business and with external partners
• Assist with the monitoring of stock levels and inventory processes to support accurate reporting
• Maintain and review reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data
• Provide mentoring and day-to-day support to junior members of the finance team

About You:

• Previous experience in a management accounting or similar finance role
• Confident producing full sets of management accounts with strong attention to detail
• Advanced Excel skills and a solid understanding of finance systems
• Organised and deadline-driven, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Clear communicator who thrives in a collaborative team setting
• Part-qualified, finalist, or fully qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA)
