Location: Blackburn, BB1 2FA - Office Based

Contract: Full Time / Permanent

Salary: £47,025 -£57,475 Dependent on experience & discretionary bonus scheme

About the role…

We have an exciting and innovative opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join our expanding Group function.

You will be responsible for overseeing financial operations and provide strategic guidance to senior management. Reporting into the Group Consolidation Manager, you will lead the consolidation process for EG Group, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial results on a monthly basis. You will also support to implement, test and reconcile the Group’s new consolidation tool.

They will showcase their strong analytical skills and proficiency in consolidation, budgeting and forecasting. As well as this, they will excel in communication to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams to address accounting and reporting requirements.

This is a permanent office based position; we offer flexibility with preferred starting times between 8am-10am Monday-Friday.

Duties and Responsibilities

•Run the end-to-end consolidation process, including collecting, validating, and consolidating financial data from reporting units.

•Manage the financial closing for the group by managing the group subledger, general ledgers etc.

•Prepare consolidated financial data in accordance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

•Complete the intercompany transactions and reconciliations, ensuring accurate elimination and consolidation of intercompany balances and transactions.

•Stay updated on accounting policies and standards, ensuring compliance and consistency across the consolidation process.

•Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance and tax, to ensure accurate and timely consolidation of financial data.

•Continuously evaluate and improve the consolidation process, streamline workflows, and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

•Support the external auditors during the annual audit process, address audit queries, and ensure timely completion of audit deliverables.

•Support the implementation of the group’s financial consolidation tool, ensuring data integrity and optimising reporting capabilities.

•Once the consolidation tool has been implemented, take ownership and ensure its integration into the month end close process.

•Develop and ensure compliance with internal controls in the consolidation process.

Candidate Requirements

•Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)

•Previous consolidation experience

•Experience in group accounting function with intercompany transactions

•Experience with Management Accounting

•Experience in compliance & audit management

•Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships

•Experience in process mapping & improvements
