Job Advertisement: Senior Learning Support Assistant WorkerPurpose of Job:

• Supervise and lead a small team of Learning Support Assistants to meet learners' social and physical needs, fostering a safe learning environment.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to the team, fostering practice development.
• Take a lead role in supporting learners with special educational needs, health, personal care, and mobility requirements.
• Prepare and maintain updated support plans, coordinating high-quality, individualized support.
• Proactively engage with Local Authorities, social services, parents/carers, and other professional agencies.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:In alignment with all other staff:

Support the College’s mission, vision, values, and strategic objectives.

Implement Equality and Diversity policies, actively combatting discrimination.

Take responsibility for professional development and engage in relevant activities.

Implement safeguarding policies and practices.

Uphold health and safety responsibilities per the College’s policy.

Contribute to continuous improvement as part of the College’s quality assurance systems.

Handle data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Requirements:

• Experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational setting.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and practices.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with various stakeholders.
• Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
• Relevant qualifications and/or training in education, special educational needs, or related fields.
