Senior Learning and Care Support Assistant

  • Annual Salary: £30,684 to £32,581 (Actual salary for 36 hours per week, 40 weeks per year)
  • Location: West London
  • Job Type: Full-time, Term Time

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Learning and Care Support Assistant to coordinate the provision of specialist support for students with profound and complex needs. This role involves working closely with other team members and curriculum staff to design, develop, and implement Individual Care Plans, risk assessments, and Individual Support Plans. Additionally, you will line manage a team of Learning and Care Support Assistants and ensure the completion of relevant administration.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Coordinate and oversee the provision of specialist support for students with profound and complex needs.
  • Design, develop, and implement Individual Care Plans, risk assessments, and Individual Support Plans.
  • Line manage a team of Learning and Care Support Assistants.
  • Ensure the completion of relevant administrative tasks.
  • Liaise effectively with staff across the College to ensure cohesive support strategies.
  • Lead and motivate a team to provide high-quality care and educational support.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Trained in Manual Handling, First Aid, Safe Administration of Medication, Epilepsy, Anaphylaxis, Dysphasia, and Diabetes including the safe administration of Insulin.
  • Experience providing specialist support for young people with Profound and Complex SEND.
  • Strong knowledge of effective support and intervention strategies for learners with profound and complex needs.
  • Experience in assessing children/young people to identify individual needs.
  • Good understanding of the range and types of interventions available.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Ability to liaise effectively with staff across the College.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
