Senior Infinera / Transmode Deployment Engineer - Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited : Job Details

This role is working for a major telecommunications client as a Subject Matter Expert in their Core IP & Optical logical configuration team. You will be responsible for the successful deployment of Infinera (Transmode) logical optical network configurations to the Core infrastructure, primarily on First of Type (FOT), Bespoke, low volume high complex projects. You will be successfully managing cease activities on the Infinera (Transmode) logical optical network. You will have the ability to work outside normal working hours to comply with change management under high and medium time restrictions. You will provide technical support and input to the Design, Build and Deployment gateway team, when requested, on the configuration and integration of complex, low volume or non-standard works orders including bespoke solutions and first of type work. Define and complete handover activities with operations, partner organisations and other stakeholders on deployment of optical network infrastructure and provide incident and problem management support during a warranty period until adoption into the production environment is completed. Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to develop configuration standards, documentation and deployment working practices for network equipment configuration upgrades ensuring that compliance to engineering, regulatory, security and equipment vendor standards is achieved. Enable delivery partner success by establishing the required relationships to technically support the partners to ensure they have the required capability and knowledge of technical deployment standards, working practices, documentation and change management behaviours to meet our needs. Represent the logical team at Engineering Support Impact Assessments meetings. Ensuring that technical input, project cost effectiveness and overall strategic logical network views are represented. Ensure all relevant stakeholders are engaged. Attend internal Project meetings when required. To perform any duties as defined by the Line Manager.Candidates will only be considered and contacted if they can provide a CV that demonstrates that they have Infinera Vendor accreditation or at least five years' experience working with Infinera/Transmode Vendor kit. Considerable experience in optical Networking in a telecommunications carrier, ISP or large scale enterprise network environment is a must. Knowledge of optical networking protocols, technologies and vendors is expected. Ciena Vendor accreditation or ECI Vendor accreditation experience would be advantageous as would Synchronisation: Symmetricom and Oscilloquartz Vendor accreditation. Use of Agile Methodology and Jira would be useful. Flexible working options are available, but you must be prepared to work in a hybrid fashion - 2 days per week on site is expected at the client HQ in the M3/M4 Corridor. Working from other sites across the UK may also be considered. Overseas candidates will not be considered - nor will anyone needing sponsorship.
