If you're a dynamic individual with a passion for operational excellence, technical expertise, and team leadership, then we have the perfect role for you!Overview:As the Senior Gas Engineer at Calor, you will play a pivotal role in leading our Southeast Customer Engineering operations. With line management responsibilities, you will oversee a team of 16-18 direct reports and 6 contractors, ensuring seamless execution of critical tasks and adherence to industry standards. Your leadership will drive productivity, maximize efficiency, and maintain the highest levels of service excellence. Your role will involve overseeing daily operations, analysing performance metrics, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. With a home-based setup and regular travel to customer and Calor sites, you'll have a visible presence in the field, guiding your team to success. In this role, we're looking for someone who embodies key competencies such as the ability to make timely decisions and take initiative, providing clear direction and inspiring others, fostering teamwork and collaboration, effectively planning, and organizing tasks, embracing change and adapting to new circumstances, and consistently delivering high-quality results that meet and exceed customer expectations.What you will need:

  • ACS Gas Qualifications Knowledge of managing Technical resources to deliver customer service in a cost-effective manner within the Gas Industry Working knowledge of legislation, codes of practice, company standards and procedures applicable to all aspects of Gas Industry. Self-motivated with high levels of performance orientation and initiative with a strong will to succeed An understanding of relevant SHE and Employee Relations legislation. Resilience – be able to work in a high-pressure environment where many conflicting priorities require clear and concise decision making Knowledge of IT, Sales & Marketing and all areas of Customer Engineering. Experience in dealing with Customers, Engineers, Contractors, Authorities and other third parties at all levels and in all circumstances. Strong customer orientation and focus. Strong and effective interpersonal, negotiating and communications skills both internally and externally. Ability to plan and organise own workload. Ability to evaluate Engineer’s performance in a value adding way. Be able to carry out rapid assessments of situations encountered routinely and in the event of an emergency or incident. Be able to demonstrate and practice commercial awareness. Strong relationship management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct line management of installation and maintenance teams Promote and ensure safe working practices Provide 24/7 emergency cover and manage standby rota Maximise productivity and minimise costs Conduct goal setting and performance reviews Ensure compliance with training and HSSE requirements Manage stock holding and engineer resources Develop trainees and investigate incidents Complete management administration and reporting
